Some Plants That Will Give You a Herbal High

These days many people are looking for a legal way to get a ‘high’ feeling, and are turning to herbal alternatives. There are many different types of herbs, that when used alone, or blended with other herbs can give an herbal high.

Datura, also known as Jimson Weed is an herb that can grow about 2 meters high, it produces seed pods and has large purple or white flowers. This plant contains hyoscyamine, scopolamine, and atropine, chemicals, which are found mostly in the seed pods and flowers. These chemicals can cause a ‘high’ feeling, and often cause euphoria, and sometimes hallucinations.

Morning Glory

Morning Glory seeds contain LSA (lysergic acid amide), which is a psychedelic similar to LSD, but nowhere near as strong. Most seeds sold commercially are coated with a substance designed to make you feel unwell, and for consumption, it is best to extract the seed, or find seeds that aren’t coated. Morning glory seeds can produce a dream-like state that lasts up to 14 hours.

Amanita Mushrooms

These mushrooms contain psychoactive ingredients such as; muscimol, and ibotenic acid. People believe that the Viking berserkers ate these before a battle as they believed it would increase their strength. These are not the same as psilocybin mushroom, which produce a pleasant high. These mushrooms can produce effects such as synesthesia, increased strength, and muscle twitching. These mushrooms are quite easy to identify as they are red with white spots, but they belong to the genus Amanita which contains some deadly mushrooms, so be very careful when consuming these to be sure you are eating the right ones.

Salvia Divinorum

Salvia Divinorum is a psychedelic that contains Salvinorin A; this plant will induce a quick ‘trip’ that usually last between 10 and 30 minutes. Effects can range from a change of perspective to an extreme intense experience. This product is legal to purchase in the USA at this time, but many people who have tried it don’t like it and choose something different to obtain their ‘high’.

Things To Remember

It is important to remember that what herbs are legal in one country, may not be legal in another. Before purchasing any supplement for a herbal high, ensure that you know what you are purchasing and its legal status in your area.

You should also be aware that many herbs will have a different effect on different people, and those with low tolerance are likely to have a completely different experience.

When you first try any herbal supplement, smoke, or drink, start with the smallest dose possible to ensure that you won’t experience any nasty side effects. If you find that you can use the herb or blend of your choice comfortably, slowly increase the does until you get the effect you are looking for. However, if you experience an effect that makes you feel ill or uncomfortable, discontinue use and look for an alternative herb for your herbal high.
